As ive said before, I would have to recommend Saalbach in Austria.

Cheap flights with ryanair to Salzburg.
Less than 2 hour transfer from airport.
    Great nightlife/apres-ski.
Top class slopes & a huge skiing area.

There is a ton of other resorts in Austria, im sure the people on here can recommend a few. Ive personally been to Saalbach several times and i love the place.

I think in general Austria is cheaper than France.

    Austria, Austria, Austria

Mayrhofen, Soll, St Johan, Lermoss, Flachu all tend to be very cheap,

Also in Italy Livignio is good value but long transfer and Soux Deaux is pretty good to.

France is going to be expensive for everything and anything its just the way it is.

Well book the flights with Ryanair.

Order a taxi/bus from the Saalbach website. It picks you up from the airport and brings you to where ever you are staying.

    http://www.holiday-shuttle.at/english/index_e.htm

Then i would usually look at the list of accommodation on the Saalbach website and start firing off emails to check availability. We usually go for an apartment near the town center.

    http://www.saalbach.com/en/summer/accommodation/list-of-accommodations.html

Everything i centrally located around the town in Saalbach, Gondolas, chairlifts and it has loads of shops, pubs, nightclubs, restaurants, that is what i love about the place.

There are also really nice restaurants and pubs all over the mountains, so you can start your apres-ski up on the slopes if you want.

    Try Mayrhofen,

Easy 2 hour drive over 600km of piste covered on the pass a glacier and banging night life.

Saalbach is close but will be a little more pricey

    St Anton is close EPIC

Lech and Zurs expensive but amazing

and a million and one small ski areas in between Just point the car in the direction of Austria and you will hit something:D

Oh and Ryanair allow 20kg in a ski bag does not matter what is in there once it is 20kg or under
