ok , i have a m14 socom. i bought it from strike arms swords for 190 euro. so my question(s) is:

!. what is worth while putting in? im hearing good things about mosfets are they worth putting in it?

    2. i want to use it as a sniper so what scope do you recommend? will silencer make any difference? (i alredy have a tightbore barrel in it)

    3. anything else i might need?

    thanks for your time :)

What brand is it, and what barrel did you install in it? It's hard to make any kind of recommendation without knowing those, but a new hop rubber, for sure.

Also, this may sound aggressive, but it's not meant as such; do you know what a MOSFET is for?
I ask because I often hear people saying "I'm want a MOSFET in it", or words to that effect, quite regularly and few people seem to know why they want them or what they are beyond "I heard they're good". It's one of those cases where if you don't already know for a fact that you need one, then you don't. MOSFET's are at the high end of upgrading, and far from necessary for 95% of players/AEG's.

Mofsets are good, but you said you were lookin to snipe with it so I'd say save your money and spend it on a good hop up rubber.

Are you saying it came with a tight bore as standard?

And you were right to ask, how else would you have gotten an answer.

MOSFETs are really only for handling high voltage batteries and improving trigger response. If your rifle is still stock, I'd concentrate on other things first.

The tightbore that comes with it is not always the best. I've seen good and bad examples of Cyma stock tightbores. Personally, the first things I'd change would be the barrel and hop rubber. Prometheus or Madbull would be my personal favourites. Guarder clear hop rubber to compliment it.
Fit these two and you should see a massive accuracy improvement, not to mention a range increase too.

After that, I'd suggest swapping the motor for a high speed, like the G&P M130 to give yourself a better response on semi, since you intend to play a marksman role. Taking it to a store to have the gearbox reshimmed and fitted with bearings (assuming they're not already, some are) would make a difference too.

For now, however. I suggest a barrel and hop rubber.

i really appreciate the help nakedDex. see range isn't the problem cause im out ranging alot of my fellow player's. and thanks for the help about the trigger response cause that was another thing i wanted to improve.im going to save my money for a while so i can get all these upgrades :) looks like im going to be playing with my tommy-gun for a while :p

The hop rubber, and better tightbore, work in tandem to give high accuracy, as well as range. I'd consider both to be necessary to get maximum performance.

If you want better response, start with a higher voltage battery (9.6V) and a faster motor (G&P M130). That combination will dramatically reduce spool time.
If that's not enough, look into 11.1V LiPo packs and have a MOSFET installed to cope with the LiPo effectively. MOSFETs on a 9.6V NiMH set up give little effect to spool time, so there's no need for one until you change to the LiPo packs.
