Depends on the time of day. Some people land and expect the principal ,who may be teaching to drop everything. I'd leave cv with the secretary-if there is one and stress that she is local and can be in school within. say 20 mins. If she is an I.N.T.O member, tell her to give her name and number to the local I.N.T.O branch secretary.

Also depends if you're qualified or not. CVs from unqualified people go straight into the bin in most schools.

If qualified - handing it in in person is a better idea - there'll be a face to put to the name, and you're more likely to be remembered. Also it's a way for the principal to see what you're like - it's a big risk to call in someone for subbing just from a CV that's been posted in, you don't know what kind of personality you're getting!

Would a primary principal throw a CV in the bin if a secondary qualified teacher handed it in asking for subbing work????

Maybe not, but with so many unemployed primary teachers,I'd not hold out too much hope.

I get people handing in CVs to me (2nd level) and being honest, posting it in is as good as they all go on the pile being honest with you. We only look at them when we need to use someone.
