After a few tough months health wise I have pretty much decided to go travelling for a year (or longer) before christmas. I have some savings put behind me so I would probably leave with a budget of about 9k.

I've been to Oz on a Working Holiday Visa in 2005 but I wouldnt rule it out. Was thinking maybe Canada or NZ. With regards to work I have no real qualifications.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

    Cheers

If you're under 35 canada is an option. if you're under 30 (and in some cases 35) NZ is an option. both countries do year long working holiday visas. however if you have health issues it may prevent you from being eligible for these visas

    Cheers tenchi-fan,

I wasn't aware there was restrictions on visas if you have health issues.

I am leaning more towards Canada but I will keep my options open until I decide for certain where I will go.

Just trying to figure out where would be the easiest to find work.

It depends on the health issue! Neither country wants to carry the burden of sick visitors, not to mention disease control.

For canada you apply for the visa through usit so query the health requirement with them.
A medical is required for pre-existing medical conditions and for work in certain occupations.

For NZ you must meet certain health criteria criteria. You need to apply for the visa direct from the kiwi authorities.

I think canada will be better for casual work although the minimum wage is low and the cost of living is high. But you have plenty saved to sub your income. No idea what the job situation is like in NZ.
