some channels - namely the ITV+1's, channel 4, and Five do not update automatically but will load a few hours worth when I click on them.
Any idea on what is wrong?

I don't use TV myself in MCE not gotten around to it, but have seen some users mention that for certain channels there can be more than 1 stream, therefore a bit of trial and error is needed to see which one gives the best results.

You could try a manual scan for the troubled channels, and then select whichever gives the best result.

Alternatively I have heard of people starting to use Guide Tool, and finding it useful.

Hopefully a starting point for you.

Use GuideTool, point it towards your MediaCentre PC, it loads the channels in the left pane, You can manually edit the channel order, name etc. For the channels it does not load guide data for, click the channel once in the left pane, then go to the right hand pane, use the drop down 'Lineup' tab on the top, select SkyDigitalIreland (guaranteed to update guide listings) and click your problematic channel on the right pane.
then from the toolbar click 'subscribe guide service to channel'

    That should do it.

you can re-order the channel listings to your heart's desire

This in conjunction with http://mychannellogos.com/default.aspx should make your interface a lot better!

I tried these out yesterday. Excellent stuff. Dead handy to manipulate your guide data and much quicker then the MC interface.

The channel logo addition is fantastic. Really looks great. I had to find TV3 and TG4 myself and point BBC1 NI to BBC1 and that was it. Even the mrs was impressed!
