Is it too late to apply for a student grant? I am in my 2nd yr of college and didn't apply last year because my parents were in full time work but now my father was laid off and I'm looking into it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All vec's advertise that the deadline for applications are due by the 31st of august of that year.

however, nearly all of them accept late applications.

I was told by my local vec that they take them up until may of the following year.

best to ring them and ask, however you should just fill out the form asap and send it in with all the relevant documents.
