Woman throws acid on her own face and claims she was attacked

Summary: 28 yr old woman got severe acid burns to her face and reported to the police she was attacked by a black woman. Later transpired she made the whole thing up and had inflicted the burns to her own face. No motives known yet but it's pretty clear the woman is mentall unwell.

Why on earth would she do this??

This happened really near to where I am in the US at the moment.

Apparently her story was that someone walked up to her in a parking lot and said "hey pretty lady" and then threw acid in her face.

I called shenanigans immediately as she is ugly

It's funny but when I first of this story I thought "United States or possibly UK" and when I subsequently read "Canada" I immediately thought "Nah, that prob wouldn't happen there."

Turns out to be the case. Even the acid throwers there are polite enough to do it to themselves.

I wonder did this woman ever hear of the story of the 'boy who cried wolf'. Because in a couple of weeks time if a black woman comes up and throws acid at her whats she gonna do. The police will only laugh at her. No credibility.
And the black woman will be at home in her living room, surrounded by containers of acid, laughing, cackling
