I'm running around like a blue a*se fly this week trying to sort things for a bit of reseeding I'm at. As with all part timers on here, it's a balancing act as you all well know, trying to juggle 'the job' with the bit of farming and get as much done in the few hours of day light in the evening.

Anyways, I raced home from work yesterday evening, hooked up the trailer to jeep and went for gran lime before merchants closed. Tidied up and adjusted the manure shaker and went to start Mf135......no budge:mad: Panic stations!! I need it to shake seed, gran lime and fertiliser Sat after the powerharrowing today, (the pto shaft is too short to fit on NH) Anyways Eventually pinpointed the problem to the starter switch, so after crossing terminals on starter with a spanner, away she went (thank Christ) phew!

Contented, I went to move NH from the shed to get the shaker hooked up to the 135. This was after 8, and I was looking forward to a relatively early evening quit, however fate had other plans, as I caught the NH's front tire (how I don't know!) on protruding gate hanger in yard..... pssssshhhhhhhhhhh!! ( you would want to hear the string of curses I let out!!!!)

It then of course had to lash rain and I still had to find bottle jack (buried in the back of the jeep), timbers, axle stand etc.... prop front axle and take off wheel and throw it in the trailer for the ould lad to get fixed today.

What's the dumbest bit of luck that happened to you lately? None I hope, but if there was something, let's hear it!

was baling this year and was having a problem with the nett cutter, every bale had to jump out and cut nett, nightmare stuff, anyway called dealer and lucky one of the lads was nearby. Anyway stopped up and your man showed up in an hr or two, he was with me an hr or so, adjusted the cutter and fixed issue..at this stage it was evening time and I was starving..stopped up for dinner. came out after dinner only to find baler wheel flat :mad: called local tyre guy who came out, took out tube, fixed it but did warn that it was the wrong size...another job done..at this point it was dark, said I would leave it for the night..following morning started off again..few bales made and tube goes again...jack up baler with dodgy old jack, blocks of wood etc, wheel off, half hr drive down to guy I had bought tyres off, span new tube, half hr drive back, wheel back on out into field, 2 bales made and bang..the loudest pop youve ever heard, tyre and all gone this time in middle of meadow..limp back into yard, jack up again, wheel off and down to your man again, new tyre this time and new tube and back home again..finally finished that evening..I can laugh about it now but at the time..
