Those are the "animal abusers" all the do gooders should be after.
What the betting now that within the week John Tierney of HuntSabs or John Fitzgerald or Bernie Wright will be in the letter pages of the national newspapers, trotting out the tired old line that these poor kids are going to grow up into hunters or rapists or kiddie molestors because they delight in torturing animals, and that there is a sure scientific link that hunters delight in doing things like this...etc,etc ,etc.:mad:
You would wonder who is sicker ..those little ****s that did this or the people who will try and profit from it to push their sick agendas??

Pity they wouldn;'t chose the wrong dog house and a beautiful big dobermann or rottweiler gave them a welcome:cool:

    Precisely.
Hell, we ought to be writing in to the papers asking why Tierney&Co aren't doing something about this...

In fact, feck it. I know this is stooping to their level, and it's cheap and nasty, but.

    Dear Sir,
After reading of the horrific case of animal abuse you published on Friday, where a dog was very badly injured using fireworks (and later had to be put down) in a deliberate, malicious act of cruelty, I would like to ask - what do the Irish Council Against Blood Sports plan to do about it? Can we look forward to another round of letters clogging up the letters page demanding that all fireworks be made even more illegal, or will we have to rely on Hunt Sabouteurs Ireland to point out that at least the dog wasn't being hunted at the time?
    Yours expectantly,

Way I see it, If the culprits were caught it should be eye for an eye or 'jaw for a jaw' as the case may be. Sounds extremely harsh but by god it would stop it. Its actually ridiculous that this sort of thing is allowed to happen. &

Sick basta*ds. How low are these scumbags ! They should get prison with hard labour , digging ditches, filling pot holes, cleaning rivers etc.. and when their finished , sent out the gate with a lighting firework taped to their ars**oles.

My terrier is a bit of a street dog he is content just walking about on his own for a while before being let back in. This year I'll have to keep him in, a similar incident happened in my area last halloween. It's a disgrace and calling them animals is an injustice to animals.

The story says the firework was allegedly placed in the dogs mouth..Did any one ever thint that may be you had a couple of young lads that lit one.....threw it and the dog went to retrieve...possibably even one of the dog owners...but are now too scared to come forward

this nearly happened to me 25 odd years ago..only the thing went off before the dog got within a couple of yards, we did get a fright as the dog would have picked it up. The same banger would have taken his head clean off had he done so :(

I will have to agree with 4gun here. Lads near me a few years ago did something similiar to a cat and yes they are sick basterds but iv also read a lot of reports over the years of dogs 'retrieving' fireworks. All the same, if thats true, the owners should have done the decent thing and stayed by the dogs side. Last year we were at a party with fireworks. My retriever was on a leash by my side for that very reason. He would have retrieved a stray one. i just had the cop on.
