It will be my first digital camera.

For that price i am expecting nothing special, but i am sure it will be half decent.

At least it will fit into that cheap camera case from mymemory that was posted here a few weeks back

thanks OP, was looking for one for my daughters birthday - way to young to have expensive camera, but really wanted a digital one.

Back when I were a young fella, Praktica had a reputation for making basic but excellently-built 35mm SLRs. If that has a half-decent lens on it it will probably outperform a lot of Whizzbang Chinese-made 10MP junk. Good spot.

The only drawback from my point of view would be the absence of any (optical) zoom. But yeah, for a kid, perfect first camera.

I had a similar 5mp praktica a few years back, paid about 160e iirc. took a decent pic and felt nice in the hand. till it got stolen in dublin airport..

I was delivering my one to Dublin 2 - it accepted the single digit as a postcode. So how about Waterford 1, I would imagine the post guys would work it out.

Mine was sent last Saturday the 18th and i just got it yesterday the 24th.

Another item i got from them a while back took 9 days to reach me, so don't panic yet boys
