Tea on my macbook pro

Earlier on I spilt tea on my macbook pro keyboard. I immediately turned it upside down to let it drain and wiped off what I could.

Its been working fine since, but the keyboard lighting has dimmed in places.

Have I permanently screwed it up ? Will the ligths recover ? Is there anything else I housld do with it ?

The first thing I would have done in this situation is taken out the battery and left it in a hot-press for maybe 3-4 days to let the water dry out without any power going through the laptop which could cause a short-circuit and result in damage.

Yeah, after a spill you should always leave it to dry for a couple of days to be safe. Turning it back on so soon after can cause the most damage.

Its an aluminium macbook pro - you can't take out the battery

I didn't turn it off to begin with. I was doing **** I needed to do. I was pretty quick about getting the tea off of it. And left it upside down. Plus it was pretty hot so I figured the heat would evaporate it off. So after a few mins I just went back to using it and it was fine.
    I left it off overnight.

Anyhow its fine - I'm just wondering is there a corrosion issue.

    And invalidate my warranty ?
    No thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can take battery out without them knowing. It's pretty easy to replace actually. I don't know why Apple insist on doing it for you.

And the warranty probably isn't worth much anyway if they find signs of spillage.

Are the keyboard lights still dim? Any improvement?

    No thanks.

I can confirm that any warranty is immediately null and void the instant you pour (or allow) liquid to go inside.

I would strongly advise anyone with a laptop to keep drinks well away from it. Use a separate cheap keyboard if you must drink.

    No thanks.

The HDD is in there as well and is a user-servicable/replaceable part as far as I'm aware so opening it doesn't void the warranty.

No difference. Actually it occurs to me that one area is brighter than it shoudl be instead of the others being dim. Actually yeah I think thats it.
    Working fine otherwise

Probably indicates a short-circuit. LEDs may not last long.
