So you are sitting in your car and you are doing something like paperwork or chatting on the phone, a parking warden walks past and you dont have a disk....but has he/she ever ticketed your car while you were sitting in the car in a parking disk zone without a parking disk? :)

    Did you talk to him/her?

No, because when your vehicle is stopped with the keys in the ignition in a parking bay you are "stationary" and not "parked" ;)

Afaik, the offence wording is stopped, not parked. Same for disabled bays. A gaurd in general will tell u move on, I do anyway. Most wardens have quotas so will do what's needed to fill them. They're ruthless up around my way.

What would make for an interesting argument in court.

My brother recently got a ticket on Vernon Avenue in Clontarf. He pulled in to take and call and was made pay a €60 fine.

Well lets be fair here. If you drive into a Multi-storey car park your paying from the time you enter & not from the time you park!!!

If you sit in your car for 30min or an hour & decide not to stay there, what do you think your chances are of leaving without paying for an hour?

I have seen a woman CLAMPED , while she was parked up in a secluded area breast feeding her baby.

To be fair, if youre sitting in the car and you see a parking warden arrive who in their right mind wouldnt just drive off...?
