Anyone have an opinion on this...

As well as that, all the printers in the labs in Aungier St have been changed, so that you can't bring yer paper with you anymore....ya have to pay the same way as you do in the library!

I for one am not impressed!

An essay can take 3 or 4 weeks to do!!! But i can only have a book for 2 weeks?

EDIT: You can renew it for an extra 14 days

Don't mind too much about the printers but the book thing is a serious situation. Hopefully DITSU can rally a crowd and we can fight this.

Well this also means there will be a faster turnover in books, so people won't be waiting for a month to get a book they need. If it wasn't this, people would be bitching about how there are never the books they need in the library because others are keeping them out for weeks on end.

Classic DIT isn't it! Two systems that work perfectly well and they go and change them...

They don't work perfectly well for everyone!

Coming from a small campus with limited library resources(Rathmines), it can be devastating to an essay if people have certain books out of the library for long periods of time, especially when there are many people that have to write the same essay with no books available in the library.

We've had to pay for our printing in labs for the last two years. Only fair really :D

Yeah, this is a definite plus. I've seen people go in, take out all the course books at the start of the semester and just hang on to them for as long as possible. Not cool. Of course in an ideal world DIT would just increase its number of copies of recommended reading books.
