no fire or heating yet, although the shorts and tee shirts have been put away for now

Was tempted on Monday and Tuesday but have the windows open this evening. So it'll be cosy blankets to keep the night chill off for another short while. Love the fire but dread getting up earlier to clean it out before work. Que serra..

Would you not just put an auld geansai on you and save the fires until October at least?

Just had a look at the watch there and it said it's not november yet.As I'm not a bird, I won't be contemplating any heating til then.
(Though I will be ear bashed into coming up with ever more unlikely reasons for not turning it on)

I'm still here with no top on, and the fan running beside me.
I'd be nekkid were it not for my pesky lodgers.

Yiz are all ****ed when the revolution comes.

We never turn the heating on until October, the odd open fire maybe alright. But like the heating, it's really October as well for the open fire to get going.

Jesus, it's not that cold. I'm living in an apartment and I'm pretty warm here in just a t-shirt. And trousers.

Burning turf is up there with brewing coffee and baking bread when it comes to the best smells in the world ever.

Are we talking about bonfires here? Goddamn bitch of a weather forecaster on RTE1 was saying 'Oh well, I'm afraid it downhill from here from now on!' I'm going to wring her scrawny neck if I ever see her.

I don't have a fire :( , would love one though. However, I've underfloor heating. Hopefully, it'll be effective this winter

I love making the room as cold as possible when my girlfriend is around. You could hang oil paintings on them.

(AH note for sensitive whiny people: There is no misogyny in the above statement.)

the heating is on and the fire has been lit for the first time since last winter, although reakon a few of the radiators may need to be bleed, things are not warming up quick.
