    Hi Guys,

    I am off to Vietnam at the end of October. Applied to the Embassy in the UK for my Visa. Just got it back today and all they did was stamp my passport. I thought it might be a letter or some type of document. Can you please advise if this is all i need. Just seems a bit odd to me i.e not very "official". i am only going for 2 weeks.

    thanks

    You need a visa sticker which covers one full page of your passport and looks like this;

    You probably won't even get on a flight there without it, contact the embassy if you can (they can be hard to get in touch with) and try find out. I believe it's GBP£44 for a single entry visa now, plus £8 postage. They may not have given you the visa if you didn't have enough money. Strange that they would stamp it at all. Only way to find out is to get in touch, you will definitely need that visa.

    I sent away to the embassy in London and got the full page sticker as shown in the previous post...

    You can of course get on the plane without it. They do a visa on arrival now as well. You need to get this arranged with a visa company online.. there are a few of them out there. They basically tell them that you are coming, give you a letter, then you give that to the immigration officer in Vietnam when you arrive.

    We landed in Hanoi and there was a seperate area just for visa on arrival. Only takes 15 mins or so. My 2 mates had to do this. No issues whatsoever

    Yes I did this before. I did not have any visa on arrival but just filled out a form at the airport and got the sticker put on my passport. It's no big deal at all.

    Is the visa only for 1 month? What if one would like to stay there longer?
