Hey,I'm trying to get into a music course in college. And I really want to learn the piano, but im not sure what I should get.

ive heard acoustic pianos have good sound and feeling cause of the heavier keys. whereas electric pianos have a more reproduced sound and the keys arent as heavy.

i plan to do grades on piano so will having an electric piano be even worse because the pieces ill be playing will be played on an acoustic piano?

    all help is much appreciated

If you're serious about learning classical piano, an acoustic piano is the only way to go. While digital (as opposed to electric) pianos are fine, you'll never get the proper touch by learning on one. An electric piano is different altogether, like a Fender Rhodes or a Wurlitzer piano.
