I remember back in schools days we were on a bus down to Cork, the radio wasn't working but the bus had a tapedeck. I was the only guy on the bus with a walkman and the lads told me to put on my tape. As it happened it was the Best of Simon & Garfunkel, our coach also happened to be a fan so he refused all requests to have it switched off. For over an hour the lads sat scowling at me and our teacher but it seemed to have done the trick. We hammered Rochestown College 22-3scoring 4 unanswered tries.

Would the Sounds of Silence not have been the best compromise?

i remember the Spanish football players said they were gonna bring Kasabian over to Spain for a massive session after they won the WC cos they used 'Clubfoot' to warm up to before training. I think it's a savage tune to train to myself. When I'm in the gym I usually listen to AC/DC's Back in Black album or a Metallica mix - definitely gets the blood pumping!

AC/DC - Had a best of CD made myself, but then they released Ironman soundtrack!

T.N.T. - last song before I turn off the music. I'm dynamite!

And then all other AC/DC stuff.

Guns N Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

RATM - Killing in the name of

And any music from the Rocky Montages! Cheesey but still good.
And then the inchs speech from any given sunday. Thats what I have in my pre match music file.

An album called 'Feed the Animals' by a DJ under the name of Girl Talk. Before you knock it on it's name, check it! It's a mix of songs from all genres, eras, artists, it's a brilliant one to get you up for something. Here's Wiki's list of songs sampled in it. It's eclectic to say the least!

    Here's the intro track:
