Hi, just a quick question. Does anyone have an idea what the osmolarity in the gastrointestinal tract is. I know its around 0.3M in the small intestine but more specifically id like to know the osmolarity of the large intestine (I'm assuming its higher) but cant seem to find it in the literature.
Any info or a reference or a pointer to where I might find this would be appreciated.
    Cheers

    entirely dependent on diet !

If you want to know the osmolarity of cell secretions into the bowel lumen, that is a different story entirely ...
