    http://www.progressivepuppy.com/the_progressive_puppy/2008/12/zookeeper-gay-penguins-make-the-best-parents.html

Two gay penguins that were removed from a zoo colony in Harbin, China have been reunited with their feathered clan after angry patrons at Polar Land protested the pair's banishment. La vie est injuste! The couple had been accused of stealing eggs from other penguins to hatch and raise as their own. Employing the old bait and switch gambit, they took small stones from their habitat and set them at the feet of resident nesters, then - Hey! Look over there, fresh fish! - they swapped the eggs with the stones and waddled hurriedly away. Zoo officials weren't amused, and they separated the daddy wannabes from their fellow penguins.

When Polar Land visitors complained about the couple's mistreatment, authorities relented and allowed the gay penguins to return to their colony. They even let them adopt some eggs!

If it works for penguins why not for us.

Only if you swap them for fresh fish.

I think a woman would notice if her baby was replaced with rock in fairness. As somebody else said earlier, this AH is going quite ghey with its posts today!

Yes. But it works for penguins, so should work for humans. Apparently.
According to the science of the OP.

Why not quote the part that has the quote in your title in it?
When Polar Land visitors complained about the couple's mistreatment, authorities relented and allowed the gay penguins to return to their colony. They even let them adopt some eggs! From the Daily Mail: "We decided to give them two eggs from another couple whose hatching ability had been poor and they've turned out to be the best parents in the whole zoo," said one of the keepers. "It's very encouraging and if this works out well we will try to arrange for them to become real parents themselves with artificial insemination." Wildlife experts at the park explain that despite being gay the three-year-old male birds are still driven by an urge to be fathers.

Well if the quote is from the Daily Mail it must be true

Animals being animals, I wonder will they report when one of the daddy penguins trys to hump one of his kids.

We'll open the doors for gay couples to adopt based on the Penguin case study then MY GOD! Stop everything, Daddy Penguin just humped one of the baby penguins, going on our research humans will do that too

Because we're not penguins. We're human.

Species: (biology) taxonomic group whose members can interbreed.

This is true. Although that said iirc it's the male penguins who nest the eggs so lets say if human men were likewise traditionally put in charge of minding babies then I'd imagine lots of them would also go end up being replaced by rocks as we found outselves off doing more manly things instead.

Good point. It could happen to any of us. Could imagine the wife coming in and giving out that the child was replaced with a rock. I'd probably go hmmmm I thought it was kinda quiet. Well what's done is done and theres no point dwelling on it. Lets move on with our lives it's what the kid would have wanted...

My dog goes around humping legs of girls, and they all find it cute/funny.

If it works for him, why not me?

No cuckoo's dump their eggs in another nest, getting others to raise them.
Much like most parents when they drop their kids to school/creche.

I for one draw the line at gay human couples adopting penguins.

It's against nature I tells ya!

Nope, they lay their eggs in other birds nests and leave the egg to be raised as one of the nesting parents own.

but should straight penguin couples be able to adopt gay humans?
tis a complex issue to be sure

    Those penguins are predators.

Gay penguins should only be allowed to adopt Puffins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,931 ✭✭✭Prof.Badass

Just because a gay penguin can raise another penguin doesn't mean it can raise a child .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,255 ✭✭✭✭The_Minister

The funny thing is that gay couples stealing children from straight parents because they can't make their own has probably been touted at least once in a gay rights argument somewhere.

Oh I thought they actually stole the original bird's eggs before replacement

    Yeah, sort of.
They push them out of the nest, letting them smash to the ground.
