    Hey lads,
    Hope you can help.
Last week jumped in the car to head home. went from 1st to 2nd and the revs went right up.
then again when I went from 3rd to 4th.

All was fine until this more when again any time I change up a gear the rev's would fly up until I took my foot of the accelerator.

I don't have the boot done and have this car for 2 years so I know how it handles.

It seems as if I'm in to low a gear for the speed but i'm not???

check the accelerator pedal/cable to see if it sticks at all if not the clutch could be slipping mate, ie the friction plates are worn away to an extent where they dont create enough friction to engage drive to the gearbox...... car will sound like it's revving the tits off itself and not going anywhere.

if the cars only revving exsesively when your changing gear then my guess would be the clutch is nakered :D

Sounds like your clutch is slipping. Get it to a mechanic, before the car won't drive at all.

    God don't say that! :(

Will get it to one straight away. Any idea how much replacing the clutch in a 06 Nissan Almera might cost?

between €200-€300 labour will be the most expensive bit, clutch is only about €100

    Thank you sir. Phew!

The car was literally only in the Nissan garage for an oxygen exhaust sensor, and then straight after a gear box sensor 2 months ago.

Thought a clusct replacement (if it turns out to be that) would be more. We will see when they have a look I guess.

Thanks for all your help lads.

hopefully she'll stay going to get to the garage :(

OP - What's the mileage on the car? Have you had it long? How much mileage have you put up?
