Anyone ever do a white beer that came out like Hoegaarden,,

did a search and people seem to be adding their own ingredients to different kits ..orange peel, cardamom, chamomile etc
    does this work?

its a Belgian wit, un-malted wheat and a good beligan phenolic yeast are geraly key. but if you a kit brewers a wheat kit with either dry yeast T-58 or brewferm wheat yeast will get you their, my prefers is for brewferm wheat yeast after dowing a numbers of wits with each

you can steep the orange peel/ coriander seeds after fermentation has subsided or extract the flavours in a little vodka (a week should do) an add to the beer

If your an extract brewer 100%Dry malt wheat extract (its only ever really 50% wheat) to the gravity you want and added spice in the last 5 minutes of the boil

chamomile goes a very long way and can easily over power the beer, either drop it or weigh in on a digital scales that can go in one gram unites
