We are in need of a good rest (see baby above) and were looking for suggestions on a quiet resort in the Canaries to spend as relaxing a week as possible in late November, possibly all inclusive, possibility of spa/massage services, close to a beach, with good chance of good weather and with baby-sitting service!!! :D:D Does anyone know such a paradise and who to book it with please?

Maspalomas, Gran Canaria. I've stayed in the Palm Beach Hotel 3 /4 times (wonderful but pricey on-site facilities) and one other whose name escapes me now. 2 minutes from beach.

I recommend Gran Hotel Bahia del Duque in Tenerife if you're looking for luxury and quiet time!

I already wrote about it here:

It is expensive though, dunno what your budget is.

Thanks for the tips!! To be honest I didn't think it would be so expensive, we don't even have a budget yet but it will certainly be less than that. We might look at something more modest and then look for the spa outside the resort/hotel...

^^ Bahia del Duque is very expensive but it is amazing. Not for everyone's budget though. Sorry I can't be of more help, but that's the only place I know there.

Inigo, we are in exactly your same situation. Looking for 1 week in Canary Island starting the last w/e of November with a 14 months old baby.

Every time I go for sun holidays I use Thomas Cook as I find them very good in value and service so my advice would be to check their 3 webistes (Directholidays, Sunworld and Panorama) to have an idea of what to expect and the compare agaist the other providers (Falcon, Sunway, Topflight, etc) to see if they can beat them.

Thomas Cook does not seem to sell Tenerife and Fuerteventura on those dates so our options are restricted to Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. Gran Canaria has too many hills and it is more party orienteted, hence we are leaning towards Lanzarote (Fuerteventura is not an option).

In Lanzarote, our shortlist is: Htl Papagayo Arena, Sol Lanzarote Hotel, H10 Rubicon Palace, Hotel Los Fariones, Club Siroco appts so far (and 2 or 3 others that I can not remember).

You may know this, but in the Thomas Cook case it is worth to check their three websites as there must be promotions in one that are not in the other. Normally Directholidays is the cheapest, but we found a very good deal for Menorca in August on Sunworld (that is their most expensive brand, and the same package was actually cheaper than on Directholidays).
