Damn! Was enjoying the old double-bills of My Wife and Kids and Fresh Prince in the evenings!

Didn't expect that to happen was just thinking that they might resell them. Who owns the rights to the name Bravo?

I used to like Bravo when they showed old classic shows like the A-Team,Knight Rider etc.
Its nearly all reality tv shows now.

Scrapping Bravo and Channel One is just a further dumbing down of Skys appallingly trashy programming.
Is there any quality programming being shown these days ?

Reminder that Bravo ceases in the early hours of tomorrow morning - 3am Jan 1st.

Channel One was just a glorified placeholder really, once Virgin were bought by SKY the channels were doomed. Bravo likewise.

Bit by bit SKY are hoovering up everything they can.

Sky 2 or Sky 3 will probably start showing those

Bravo used to be really good-gradually it go worse and worse. The 2 standout shows it has are Spartacus and Sons Of Anarchy-they showed them 1st before they became popular.Sky 1 will be showing the new series of Spartacus and I assume Sons Of Anarchy will head to FX as they show it in the States.

    I absolutely agree :D Bravo was - once - a quality channel.

It would seem not. A lot of the channels that were good are gone or dumbed down. MTV and VH-1 were great music channels back in the day. UK Gold had highlights every day etc. etc.
It's a symptom of the sheer number of channels available now, that they all follow each other tails with endless repeats of the same material.

Totally agree, no such thing as genre TV anymore. Endless repeats of popular programmes across so called comedy, music, documentary channels.

When are the closing? Sky Atlantic starts in Feb. Doubt UPC will have it.

Bravo closed at 03.00 on January 1st - Channel One is due to close at the end of January.

What did sky replace it with. UPC haven't replaced it with anything yet, both it and +1 are off the air.

They're not being replaced at all. When Channel One closes, the programming form all the defunct channels are being moved to various Sky channels - Sky 1-3, and some of Sky 1's programmes (e.g. Bones) are being moved to Living TV, soon to be rebranded as Sky Living.

Channel One's - and Virgin 1 and FTN before that - purpose was to be a "shop window" channel, a taste or Living TV Group/VMTV/Flextech's programming on the Freeview platform, an enticement for viewers to subscribe to pay-TV. Now Sky already have such a channel (Sky Three, which is to become Pick TV at the end of the month), they have no need for a second one so Channel One is closing.

Will they continue to have a +1 service for PickTV.

Also what a stupid name. Are they also rebranding Sky2?

Yes there will be a +1 service.
Sky3 will be re-branded as PickTV.
    Sky3+1 will be re-branded as PickTV+1.

No, Sky haven't announced a re-brand for Sky2, so it will be staying as Sky2.

And I agree, it is an awful name for a TV channel. I think it is worse than Channel One, and even that's awful.

You would think that they would close down PickTV+1.

    Any logos of PickTV?
