Last minute questions

    Hey guys,

As some of you may remember I posted here a little while ago saying I was going on a road trip to France. Well, it's less than 2 weeks away and I have a few last minute things to get done, just have a couple of questions that I'm hoping you guys can help me with.

Breakdown Cover: I got quoted (a friend rang for me as I'm working a lot between now and departure date) from AA €146 but after checking on the website, it turns out that that price is for the year. Is there a way I can just pay for the/a month and save a few quid?

IRL Sticker: Do I have to have a big sticker on the back of my car stating "IRL"?

Dipped Beams: Do I have to have my beams dipped in the opposite direction? My car is due for a service on Friday and I'm wondering should I ask my mechanic to adjust the lights? I don't head off until the 27th so if that's the case then I would be driving in Dublin for a few days with my beams dipped the wrong way.

Apologies if some of the above are retarded questions but I've never drove outside the country and I just want to be doubly sure that I'm doing everything right!

    Thanks!

Breakdown cover - think I got AA cover for a month, but it was expensive. Ring them.

IRL sticker - no, your IRL on your reg will cover you.

Lights - they are not adjusted, you just need to get beam adjusters (stickers) in Halfords or somewhere and fit them once you arrive in France. AA sell them also I think.

    Thanks PauloMN,

It's tough to get some of the things myself. Work 10 hour days in an office in the back arse of nowhere :(

But I'll most certainly get onto AA myself tomorrow and inquire about a month's cover. I don't mind paying €60 or so but I dont want to fork out nearly €150 for the sake of 11 days.
