I have an 'unlocked' iPhone 3G and the battery is near useless...

Anyone know of the best way of getting the battery replaced?

I've got a 2g and I'm in the same boat as you. You will get people here talking the usual ****e such as "turn off notifications" etc. It doesn't make any difference IMO. You can however, buy a new battery on eBay and with it they provide all the tools for the job. If you have the confidence to open up your iPhone. This is what I suggest you do. They're plenty of you tube videos out there to give you a step by step to:)

Cheers - Are the batteries you get on ebay much use generally, or will their power depreciate quite fast as well

The ones I was looking at a couple of weeks ago were brand new and cost around 6-8 euro. They only thing I'd be weary of is that they come from china and with they're quantity not quality attitude it could be risky enough. I'd advise looking through the sellers feedback to see how other customers have gotten on with previous batteries they've sold:)

Its not bullsh*t as you call it. Notifications, WiFi and Bluetooth run the battery down way faster. However with a 3G iPhone that could be 2 years old, the battery is probably knackered anyway, and turning everything off isn't going to help much. If you want to see a battery lose charge like a stone, an eBay battery from China is the way to go:rolleyes:

    Any problems?
And where did you buy your stuff? I was gonna order from a crowd called darkgsm.com, but IE popped up an error saying the security certificate on the site is linked to another site!
