Hi, I'm 15 yrs old playinfg off about 15 and have improved immensely in the last few months and always get 6/7 pars in a round. Earlier on in the year i was playing poorly and was struggling with a sometimes two fairway slice with the driver!! Although im now hitting the ball better i still slice the odd one and i feel my club is letting me down, i simply hate having to use a three wood on longish par fours for fear of producing a weak slice. If i hit 5 shots with a driver at least one will slice and the rest will fade. Can anyone reccomend a club that will combat the slice for the time being until I get my swing sorted out? And hopefully a driver which will give me an extra few yards (averaging around 230 with a good drive)By the way im 5 foot 10 (not sure if that is relevant in selecting a club) and my current driver is some slazenger driver I was given.

Also my budget would be about 200.

    Cheers, Darragh.

How do you hit your three wood? I found my driver was terrible for a while switched to the three wood and it saved me shots. I was reading an article that 15+ handicappers are better off without the driver on average.

If ya go into your nearest shop an talk to them they will sort ya out. You can get clubs with a draw bias which would cancel out your fade.

get a lesson to see what is causing your fade and see if you can sort it out.

draw bias is only a plaster of the problem

the lads are right about the draw bias only covering up an underlying problem... but for an easy hit driver with good distance the king cobra F speed is pretty easy hit. I was enquiring off a former club maker the other day and he reckoned it to be one of the easiest hit drivers on the market, i bought one new about 4 years ago for 300e and have not taken it out of the bag sinceand i mostly drive 270/280, straight and high (10.5*) although i am a 6 foot 28 year old so i am prob a little stronger than you ATM. you should be able to pick one up handy enough.

although spend a fraction on a lesson first, it could be a cheaper and more perminant solution!

Ping G10 - best driver I have ever used,

try a few different drivers and shafts, there are loads of good 2nd hand drivers out there

A P.G.A. Professional will eliminate your slice & advise you as to which driver will suit you for far less than €200.
    Augustus gloop even agrees!

If you are slicing people have a tendency to aim left to counteract it and that actually will make the slice worse.......your problem could be that your allignment is slightly out and shifting feet and shoulders slightly could fix it..but if you continue to aim left then you will continue to slice ...one lesson could sort this or it might take a few...your issue is not the club
