Firstly apologies for this question, I feel like I'm taking this whole Forum back into the Stone Age but ... I'm thinking of buying an Ipod and am completely in the dark about this.

So I was looking at Ipod Shuffles as being cheap enough but I have a few questions that I'd love some help with:-
    1. The storage space is either 1 or 2 GB. Is this good enough to store a decent amount of music - how many standard tracks does this convert to?
    2. How much does it cost roughly to download a track from the PC onto the Ipod?
    3. It's not possible to pick up radio stations on an Ipod but I can download podcasts - right? Do I have to pay to download a podcast?
    4. Would you recommend buying the latest Shuffle from Argos or somewhere like that or would it be safe enough to get one on Ebay where they're a bit cheaper but older?

If there's anything else I've missed, please let me know. Sorry to be a prehistoric dunce on this but hey I'm trying to move on and thanks for reading.

Depends on how big the mp3s are. 2GB would probably hold a few hundred songs or so.

Transferring songs onto your iPod costs nothing. Or do you mean buying a track from the iTunes Store or somewhere? Again, it varies, but most iTunes tracks cost about 99 cent.

Don't have to pay for podcasts. However, if you are interested in FM radio you should consider getting an iPod Nano.

just to add to Sad Professor above, i'd try for the nano, it seems more like what you need, and try adverts.ie, might get a cheap one there.
