Has anyone noticed newstalk playing ads that advertise out of date or time events. Ive heard two in the last week. Last week during the ireland andora game they played the ad for the match and telling people to buy tickets etc, last night they advertised for somthing that was on over the weekend. They can be very amateurish at times with their breaks

The ad I noticed recently was the one for GAA Cul camps - and the ad is along the lines that the boy in it can't wait until his summer holidays to play gaelic without his Dad - problem was the add was still playing this month after the schools had reopened!
(To be fair I don't think I heard this on Newstalk but not sure)

This sort of thing happens regularly on Newstalk. I rememnber once they were advertising a seminar at IBM which had happened several days previously.

Possibly not their fault, if the client has paid for a package that happens to go beyond the cut-off for the event in question then they still have to play it.

Or else they just aren't doing enough advertising business to fill the slots???

It could happen and if the ads are paid for then the station is obliged to air them.

Surely someone at the station should have the gumption to spot that this is happening and work with their customers to prevent it occurring in the future?

They played the add for TV3 coverage of the United V Rangers game this morning, as if anyone would want to watch that again.

    It sounds very unprofessional.
