Badminton Open Events - Players Standards

    What's the general opinion on recommended/advised/required standard to enter the "Open" badminton events like Mt Pleasant, Leinster Open etc? By definition I realise anyone can/could enter, but you don't want to be wasting both your and other players' time. Any badminton players got any thoughts or experience? What Division is the lowest that should be entering? In some ways it's great because a lower Division player has a potential chance to play against an international, but at the same time I realise it'd be pointless with a massive entry list and heaps of near-walkovers if heaps of people from varying standards entered. Would be interested to read other thoughts anyone has!

    As you say it is open, so whatever you want. I have entered one before, I play somewhere between division one and senior. At the time I was a division one player and not hovering around the senior mark. I played with a senior player in it and we accounted for ourselves well enough in our match. I would not have enjoyed it I think if I was any weaker at the time, but that would just be me. You wont know until you try though eh :).
