Can anyone tell me what are the best modules to do with computer science? They dont carry on to second year do they? i cant really see how biology relates to it but id prefer that to mathematical physics.

    Any thoughts?

CS ties into a lot of things, CS borrows things from Biology (Like Evolutionary Algorithms) and Biology takes from CS (Bioinfomatics).

If your in CSSE take the subjects you want to take (I did Biology, as that's my second love and Chemistry, since I never tried it before).

Maths physics isn't actually as bad as it sounds, it was one of my best subjects and it was the one I was most worried about taking plus there's no labs with it !!

I'm doing General Science too and I seen my timetable. Are all those Chemistry Practicals and tutorials compulsory or do I pick one?

You have to sign up for the lab time and tutorial that suits you best.
but its usually first come, first serve...

You would be surprised how much CS overlaps with the other science courses sure in final year I did a module that was pretty much a Physiology module. I also had to learn about the human eye for another CS module.

But if your planning on doing CSSE or doing CS till final year I would definitely pick Maths and Physics as these will come in handy later on in your CS degree.

They will explain the sign up process during your chemistry lectures.

Back in my day you had to queue outside a lab and one by one you were brought in to pick your lab time.

Times have changed... (At least I hope so...)

Just pick whatever you want or whatever you'll find easiest.

My year was the first year you had to pick extra science subjects in CSSE, everyone was raging but you learn some nice stuff in those other subjects.

I took biology and mathematical physics, just seemed like something I'd enjoy.
