J1 Visa I-94

    Hi,

I just returned from the US after a J1. When I was at JFK, I thought I would come across some US Immigration officers who would take out I-94 stub out of my passport (the one with the admission number on it) but to my surprise there were no Immigration officers at all. I am a little worried because the back of the stub makes it pretty clear that I had to surrender it before leaving the US.

The Dublin embassy's telecommunications seem to be machine operated only and emailing them about visa info seems to be a no-no as well, so does anyone have prior experience of this and what they do?

    Cheers.
