I'm hoping to get my hands on a Suzuki Swift SA310 (built mid to late 80s) similar to the above. I had one as my first car and I'd like another so if you happen to know of one please let me know. They seem to have all but disappeared.

I always wanted another Hillman Imp as that was my first car, but in the end, I decided it would spoil many happy memories seen through rose tinted galsses...just a thought...

There is a woman who lives in my area who has an '88 gold coloured one, in fairly good condition. I see it quite regularly. They come up from time to time on Donedeal so just keep your eyes peeled.

I know the feeling about the first car thing, it's the reason why I'm keeping my old Nissan Micra K10 in storage. Couldn't part with it! :)

A gold one? Same colour as mine was, although it was officially called beige! Whereabouts is that one located? Not Finglas by any chance? I'd happily drop her a note to say 'if you ever decide to sell give me a call'.

I know what you're saying about the first car thing Corktina but that doesn't bother me. I've bought classics that would have been in the family way back when and I've never been disappointed. Far from it. The Suzuki I had was in the family from new and was 10 years old by the time I got it. Although I had a bit of trouble with it towards the end it was still a brilliant little car, maybe the best I've owned. I've had my fill of Triumphs for now, time for something different. :)

I'm not sure where exactly where the woman lives, but she's in either in the Firhouse / Knocklyon area in South Dublin.

Still has the old metal pre-'87 plates on it and all! :)

Hmm, Holland's a bit further than I'd want to travel for one. :D

Please keep your eyes peeled folks and if you know someone who has one please tell them I'd like first refusal. ;)

There used to be a real tidy 4 door silver one in Tralee (515AIN) typical old man motor, minded very well with the handbook full of little notes of where he had driven and fuel consumption etc. A friend of mine got it through a trade in in the garage he was working at,whipped out the engine for the Fas apprentices and squased the rest with a track machine.

He should no longer be your friend. :(

Drove my wifes Renault 12 to the local scrapyard(now a housing estate actually) and watched Atkinsons machine convert it into a square ball.

had I put it in a shed someone would give me 500 euro now.

I cut the roof off a very good MK1 Escort for the hell of it around 15 years ago, that would be worth a bit more than 500eu now.:D There was a good few mint MK2 Escorts and RWD starlets converted to racecars too. Spose at the time it was just the same as doing it to late 1990s Escorts and Starlets now.
