Old D class rules where that you could not strike the head at all, thats E class now or simply MMA league rules..

D class as i know it is head shots standing, apart from knee's-on the ground its the same as MMA league, these are called Amateur rules on my Show's.. With the rules been overhauled it will take people a while to get to grips with the new names etc.. hopefully shows get the proper names onto rules so its all the same from show to show. Hope that helps

This is a close list, may be slightly off!
    Pro A Full rules
Pro B Minus Elbows, heel hooks
Semi Pro Same as B with padded gloves and 3x3 min rds
Amateur, no grounded head strikes or knee's to head standing
Amateur League, No head strikes at all..

Quick Q Paul are you still going to use 4oz gloves or move up to the 8oz for Amateur rules?

8oz as it makes no sense imo using the smaller gloves im a lower class of fight as there used im semi pro now, but if using head guards then 4oz would make sense if thats how your doing it

Quick clarification on the amateur rules, no ground head strikes, down that include strikes off your back? ie the guy defending guard/HG/SC/mount etc

What are the weight classes in RoI currently, considering a fight when I come home.

?? Is this the case now? If so when did it start? If new rules have been put in place it will be handy if somebody could let promoters know. There was alot of talk about rules on another thread last month but it seemed to fizzle out. Can coaches please confirm the current state of play asap

Amateur leagues have never changed and there is no head shots at all, under any circumstances!

The amateur rules most shows will use will have standing headshots minus knee's as far as i'm aware, the 2 rulesets are not to be confused!!

Weight classes are the same as the rest of the world.

It is the case on shows that have let the coaches know so it is on Barry's and on my next show it is, on yours it's not :D-any coaches who want to jump into the debate still can but almost every coach is in favour of the more realistic rulesets been used.

    Ps. stop stirring john!

I just updated the thread on the rules suggestions.

The last word was that I would do something and then I just got too busy!

I don't see how a promoter asking a simple question can be seen as stirring? and I take offence at your remark

The other thread was trying to get a set of rules for all shows, not "it's like that on mine and not on yours". Now if it's a case that people won't be using the new rules that's fine. I will announce the rules for Cage Contender (2011 onwards) in due course. My question was asked more because I'm planning all CC events for next year now and need to order all the gloves etc.

Your offended , maybe as a promoter you need a thicker skin-you have my number and can ask me anything you want.

Also, there is no definitive way that we can say this is the rules and thats it, so it's up to us as promoters to follow the suggested rules and make it happen and the coaches to back it.. if you have not realised that there is a an agreed rule set done and agreed by the majority then maybe you should ring everyone you deal with for there opinion as it has already been agreed by every coach that post's on here and others are aware of it if there involved in the scene and would have got on to say they opposed the rule change if they did.
