Gas central heating - Radiators all cold

    Hi all,

Sorry if this is a daft question (although I hope I am missing something obvious) but I have a question about our central heating.

We just recently moved into a house about four weeks ago and it was only last night that I thought to check the central heating.
The gas boiler switched on fine, with all lights coming on as expected (in accordance with the instruction label on the inside cover).

The problem is that none of the radiators were on, upstairs or downstairs. The water seemed to be heating alright (noise coming from the immersion) but just no heat from any radiators.

The fact that no noise or heat comes from the radiator leads me to believe that perhaps the heat is switched off elsewhere, as you'd imagine one or two radiators would work if others were fecked.

    Is this possible?

Cheers for any tips / pointers!

Proably a zone valve on the central heating side not opening. You can manually set it in the open position until you find the cause.

Is that zone valve located on the boiler itself or is located somewhere below it, on a pipe?

    Thanks

Normally in the cylinder cupboard, but could be anywhere really but should always be accessible and yes on a pipe.

Ok, I'll have a look for that this evening so, thanks for that!
