Myself and the missus are flying from Shannon on the morning of the race. Due to get into Beauvais at 9.20am. I know it's a bit tight but I'm sure we'll make it to Longchamp on time.
Previously there in 2005 when Hurricane Run won for Fallon in a fantastic finish. Just wondering if anyone has any advice generally about Longchamp on the day? I remember there being incredible queues at the PMU counters...

Can you pay extra for admission to reserved enclosures for example? The last time I went I think I paid a pittance (€6 or something) to get in. I wouldn't mind paying extra if it meant less queues / better access etc.
    Thanks,
    John

I'd nearly think of goin myself. Ive never been. Must check out the flights. Is it still E6 entry?

Is Longchamp easy to get to from the airport?

There's usually a few free vouchers knocking around online

I don't think there is any reserved enclosure for the public. The PMU desks on the ground floor beneath the parade ring were pretty hassle free last year , just give yourself about 10 mins before the start of the race and you should be ok.

I'm not sure Betfair is available from France any more which might be something to remember if you use it.

It was €2/3 and a free racecard to enter on both saturday and sunday last year from memory. Saturday is very easy to get around the track

Yeah, there was a girl handing these out at the entrance last year, it's a few € to get in without one, you can print one off before you go to make sure you get in free

    Thanks for the info chaps.
Bit of a Bogey: The Ryanair bus takes you from Beauvais to Porte Maillot metro stop in Paris and the buses to Longchamp leave from Porte Maillot. I've emailed Longchamp and they've told me there is a "Left Luggage" office at the track. The flight from Shannon on the Sunday morning was €5 last time I checked...

Cheers johnbaz. Flights from Dublin are around the E80 mark so it could be an option!!

just ring your Irish bookie from the course and get PMU odds, saves all that queuing for ages lark, been at the last 5 but giving it a miss this year, find it really underwhelming this year for some reason
