    What a noise! V10 n/a versus V8 twin turbo.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

The cynic in me isn't impressed BMW are using the same engine in the M as they use in many other higher end BMWs. Lowering average CO2 might have been a motivator?

Dunno, the much higher revving naturally breathing V10 appeals to me much more than the twin turbo V8. And that's coming from me - I love V8s :)

Unkel, I think the point of the TTV8 is due to the previous M5's V10 not being able to meet certain emissions standards.

Thats not all, I hear it will be part time FWD and only switch to rear when it looses traction.

    ha ha :D

I suppose those boyos in their 'turbo' 320 and 520d's etc will be a bit more justified sporting M badges now :D

Isn't that adaptive break lights there that's blinking as the driver is breaking hard into corners? Just wondering if that's legal/illegal here?

True, they will have turbos just like daddy does. :D

Seriously though, I dont mind they have a Turbo, makes no odds to me, but Ive always been a fan of Audi's approach, which is FI heavy, when they stopped trying to out-BMW the "old" BMW.

Great stuff... so we can own and M5 and tax it for only a €100 :D

It is impressive what BMW are doing with emissions though.

Their new 544bhp 6l V12 in the 760i outputs 303g CO2 per km and is faster to 60 than the M5, whereas the outgoing M5 with its 5l V10 outputs 357g.

I'm guessing the new M5 will be sub 280g which is pretty impressive considering the performance.

    I'll miss the v10

Want one so bad, but I think I would need a small lotto win to justify it.
And even then the gf would want me to put that cash towards a house, I think I would have to politely decline and go in search of a v10 fix..
