wearing retainer-- teeth still moved slightly

    Hi,
So i wore braces for 2 years had an over bite ( still kinda do but not noticeable) and some crowding, so I had 2 teeth removed on the top. So I just had my braces removed five weeks ago. I was told to just wear my retainer at night (clear plastic retainer) which I thought strange as most people are told to wear theres all the time except eating for at least first 3 months.

So I have been religiously wearing my retainer every night. I noticed last week a slight gap between my two front teeth, they were just touching towards the bottom of the teeth. my retainer still fits and everything though? Do I just have to accept this or is there anything that can be done? I even have a fixed wire bonded to the back of my teeth at the top?!! my other top teeth seem kinda gappy too? would a hawley type retainer be better at keeping my teeth tight? I have also started to wear my retainer all the time now to try and retain me teeth as best I can!!
sorry this is so long im just so disappointed!

Talk to the orthodontist, and aligner might fix it and an alternate type of retainer.

    Hi

sorry to hear about the relapse. I would go back to the orthodontist and discuss it. There is usually a solution without putting the braces on, however relapse can be unpredictable even with the best of treatment

Thank you both for your reply's.
I have to go back in a few months for a check up, i'll say it to him then. I am hoping he will care because I have tried to ask him things before and he is a little bit gruff and always makes me feel like im being an inconvenience for asking anything, that is why I asked here in advance.

Although it is disappointing it is an improvement. Thank you very much again!!:)
