I hope your golf is better than your googling. ;)

The heritage have their own course guide on their website and pretty good it's too.

    http://www.theheritage.com/upload/docs/The_Heritage_Course-Guide.pdf

    Hope this helps

The best tip I can give you is to play it soon...before it closes.:(

Played it last sunday and monday and unless you are a top class golfer the green tees are a great test of golf - whites and blues are for 5 handicaps or less - in great shape if it is going to the wall soon . The hotel was classy too.

Played mullingar yesterday after a rainy night and have to say i did not really enjoy it - big drainage problems to be addressed but i would say it would be a nice course when dry.

ffs are you joking, what's soo hard about it,quite open, great drainage so you'll get that bit of well needed run even when it's wet,not mad long and true greens, not easy but defo not one of the hardest i've played,

Just before I book a tee time online, can anybody tell me how long the course will take to play? Booking in for 14:30 Sunday. Will we get it finished before dark? We're only a 2-ball so I'm thinking we should. Just to confirm as we're travelling from limerick and it's the only time we can get

you might get caught behind a few 4 balls Dines so you might be tight on time.

Fantastic course but when i played it, it was at the start of the summer when it was really warm and the greens were rock hard. You need to know when to go for pins and when to lay up as well.

Watch out for the bunkers ;)

The Heritage is a cracking course and a fair test off the whites. As said previously it's all there in front of you, but do make sure you have a peek over any humps and bumps for blind spots .. particularly #9, as the water does come in a lot more than you think. With regard to the doors closing I'd heard a rumour that one of their members who might also have an interest in a Premier League club was fronting an interested consortium in buying the place.

Played here today for first time.

Was a bit disappointed, greens were poor and bunkers really poor. Understandable maybe with bunkers after the heavy rain. Greens looked like grass had some type disease.

Demanding course, couple par 4's were playing really long.

Think the course has serious potential. Would love to play it on a nice day with greens in nice nick

Many on here played there, what ye think of it?

I've played it a good bit and always enjoyed it - it being in that poor of condition is new news. Somebody else mentioned it recently for a Golf Digest event.

The bunkers are unmanageable there - they will have to fill in many of them.

The greens were always class - so that is bad news.

It is just too big a course to maintaining - everything is just too big and too much - tee boxes - size - gaps between holes. Mad place.

What is the status - ownership ?

I enjoy playing it - I think it is too long and hard for lads that are not good ball strikers.

I'd nearly go as far and say - it is close to not practical for society golf and casual golf - and over that last few years that has been a big part of keeping the place going.

played here for the first time today myself -
middling 27 points but finished with the same ball - kept it out of the water

conditions were tough with holes into the wind really rough and the few showers brutal
thought the greens were a bit ropey/bobbly but were good for speed having said that, bunkers hard (but after the rain the last few days everywhere probably has similar problems) but fairways lush and easily found, i was really impressed with the design - that 2nd hole superb IMO looking forward to going back in better weather and hopefully the course will be good all round then too

Ya I was amazed at how many bunkers on the course and they're huge. Serious maintenance to look after them

I play regular golf and found it a serious challenge. As mentioned above for a very casual golfer it could be too demanding and actually take the enjoyment out of it

Ya I'm looking forward to playing again. Great value for €25

Beautiful set up in there , it's a marvellous resort

    There are great holes - I love the run from 2 to 9 actually - then 11 - 12 are interesting. 17, 18 are a good finish.

The likes of 4 and 17 - require nearly 200 yard solid irons on par 3s. We are talking exceptional 6 / 5 irons - and more.

There is space - but look at the likes of the 5th hole a big drive and then a mid to low iron into a par 4. And this is repeated.

With a bit of wind - it will be a grueler if your not striking it well.

Certainly need accurate irons shots into greens to avoid bunkers

I'll be interested to see standard scratch for the day as I felt it was difficult

Greens are in where in very bad shape two weeks ago, every green was diseased lots of bare patches

Played on the bank holiday just over a week ago and wasn't impressed tbh.
Greens were very poor. You could excuse the bunkers being so bad after the heavy rain over the weekend, but the greens should have been perfect. Probably the worst putting surfaces I've encountered this year.
I've played here plenty of times before and never had any complaints, so it's a bit worrying.

Played a few weeks ago, was in very good condition imo, better than the last time I played anyway. Bunkers were a little iffy in spots but other than that very good.

A course I never play well on, find it very tough.

Played it on Saturday, great track in very good condition, but the greens look like they are getting over some sort of disease. The only problem was that it took 5 hours 45 minutes to play it, not sure why it was so slow but we were waiting close on 15 mins on every tee. They could really do with a course ranger.....
