    Hi,

Can anyone give me any info on becoming a member at clontarf? are there joining fees? If yes, do they have to be upfront? what is annual membership? Is there a wait to become a member? How does the course play? I havent been out there but it is very close to my house so would be very handy for a regular game.

    Cheers

Just play it before you even think about it. It might feel "wrong" or maybe perfect, but you will have to play it to find out.

    Hi elblackerino

Not my favourite course but it is very well kept.
As it is that close to you it is the one to join.
They were taking in new members earlier this year.

    Good luck.

its a dangerous course, very tight, alot of the old boys dont shout fore, the course only has two holes that i can take my driver out on,the fairways are really close together,so beware of the old codgers

Dangerous, perhaps. Short, yes, but unless you're Bubba Watson there's a few more than two holes you can use your driver on!

Decent club, not overly long, its old school as already said. playing it first to see how it suits your eye would be advisible. fair play on shooting 77 around there, thats no easy thing.

Well excuse me but shooting 8 over off 2 and justifying not needing a driver doesn't really make me the twat does it?

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Bored lads?

Not a fan of CGC. Think the OP could find some better courses in the same price bracket.

iceman thats good shooting, its a tight course and thats the challange, re using the driver twice ?? questionable, i play off 5 and on any given day can use the driver on 12 holes give or take.. its well protected and each year all the 'great game talkers' who knock the place struggle to do a score in the lord mayors qualifyin.. location is a huge attraction, can be stuffy re old timers but good craic the be had on whole as they are definitely the minority..
good luck if your thinkin of joining as far as i know its open for 5 day membership check out their website.

2 handicapper scoring 30 pts. If you played off 12 and got 40 pts you might feature in prizes. Keep the driver in your bag. WINDBAG
