Does Dublin Bus maintain headway on any routes?

    Specifically i'm thinking of the likes of the No.17 whose timetable seems to indicate that it does given the location specific times;

    or the 84;

    The 17 times are approximate only - the departure times are the only actual times that the drivers have to maintain. The same applies to the same format timetables on routes 65, 76/a/b, 84 (except Bray Station), 84x, 102, 104, 220.

    The only times that are maintained across the network are:

    1) Departure times from termini

    2) Last departures from city centre (O'Connell Street) on cross-city routes 3, 4, 10, 11, 13/a, 16/a, 19/a, 38, 46a, 83, 121, 122, 123, 128, 140, 145, 151.

    3) Route 84 at Bray Station

    4) 27b at Castletimon inbound in morning peak

    Otherwise buses can be delayed for driver changes at handover points but these are not in the public timetables.

    Does that apply to the new timetables also which have some intermediate times at specific stops

    The 27B south has split departure times in the mornings - one from Harristown and one from Castletimon. Both are tiemtabled and the bus driver will wait for the second one before leaving. They do some passenger shuffling if the second bus gets to Castletimon before the previous bus has left though so it mitigates the delays (up to 15 mins) somewhat.
