It's not bad at all. Dundrum is not far away and that's a lovely course.

Ballykisteen is a nice course and usually relatively quiet so you should be able to get around reasonably quickly. Enjoy your stay there.

The other courses in the area that you should try and play would be Dundrum which is only a few miles away and Adare which is a little bit further.

Tipperary golf club is very close to ballykisteen. I haven't played it myself but I have heard it is a nice course.

I'm a member at ballykisteen and i think it is a lovely course with some great holes..(8,11,15) about 10 or 11 of the holes have water hazards and most of the fairways are pretty wide.Only downside are some boring par 3's (3,9,13).....good facilities there as well.

fairways are not that wide...16th in particular......rough can be tough if you go wayward but it is fairly open.....greens are lovely at the moment and you will enjoy it....it is now the dryest course in that area since the drainage was sorted and the sanding programs.....bunkers are not great..it is enjoyable..small locker rooms but good bar and good selection of food in bar and restaurant

Agree with the above - Ballykisteen is a nice course, you should enjoy it
Dundrum is the best in the area and is only 15 mins away.
Tipperary Town is even closer (5 mins away) and is also decent, shortish but tight tree lined fairways.
A couple of courses in Limerick are also less than 45 mins away - Castletroy and Limerick (Ballyclough) are the pick of the ones near Limerick city.

Played Ballykisteen 3 weeks ago on a glorious day of weather. By far one of the best club parkland courses in the country. The greens were in my opinion among the best in the country, probably only second to the Heritage resort. Nice bar and eating area with friendly staff. All in all it was a great treat.
