Hello I have a HP Pavilion dv6 that i just bought online and it keeps on freezing. It's brand new and it seems to freeze randomly.

Can anyone help me with this? Ive downloaded all the drivers from microsoft and from ATI.

    Thanks,
    Nick

If you just got it and its under warranty send it back.
I had a HP DV6 and always had problems with it over heating.

Really? Im doing a system restore now to see if that will help. I thought if it over heats it shuts down? my brothers laptop even though its not a HP shuts down when it over heats.

Yeah when it overheated it just shut down abruptly. Not related to your problem at all.

Ah ok thanks. I noticed that the back plate wasn't clipped in correctly so I opened it, took out the RAM and put it all back together. So far so good, but I have not run google chrome yet, ive been watching a tv series from the hard drive.

I'm not 100% sure but I was watching Fringe on the hard drive, left the pc came back and was continuing to watch it and the laptop ran perfect. I went to go on google chrome and the laptop froze within 10mins.

Do you think google chrome is conflicting with the laptop? I only seem to freeze when im running google chrome but then it generally is on when im on the laptop.

I'm not too sure now as it froze with IE, I think it could be my logitech mouse, I cant turn on the laptop with the micro receiver plugged in otherwise the laptop wont load up or even show the microsoft logo. When i dont have it plugged in it seems fine and when i do have it plugged in it does lock up. Im not too sure as again i do have i plugged in most of the time.
