Yeah, there's a problem alright. I haven't been able to log in for the past week or so.

(Just make sure that you're using the generic user names and passwords as opposed to your student number)

Welcome to DIT, when things are working in this institution you can consider yourself lucky, that sites been down for the past few days now, seems its having issiues connecting to the database server, wonder how long that will take them to sort :P.

should I be worried that things barely ever work since I'm starting computer science in DIT? haha

Well, I suppose the best advice is don't go on the piss too much during the year and try pass the exams :D . I found first year to be heavy going workload wise but not that difficult. Certainly manageable to pass if you put a bit of work in.
Second year is a good bit harder, it seems to throw people (me included!) when the workloads start piling up, but again its manageable.
I didnt find 3rd year too bad, first year in the course with no repeats, found C++ the hardest in second year, but I hear theres been changes since I did it and there may be a more lets say supportive lecturer teaching it! ;)

I think you need to enter the weeknumbers in the first semester or something like that, I never really got my head around that thing and I'm going into 4th year!

ah that doesn't sound too bad cheers:).How was the work experience in 3rd year?
Is there a chance they(whatever company you did it with) could offer you a job when you finish?

You'll probably be split into 2 classes and you'll find out which one you're in on the day

Not everyone does work experience in 3rd year, I didn't do it and did the subjects instead, I suppose there is a chance a company that hires you could offer you a job in the future, but more than likely they have it setup so they will just take on new students to do the work instead as their in the programme
