    Hi all
I dont know if im posting this in the correct section but i have a query on setting up some equipment that i have purchased. The equipment consists of

    • Behringer Eurodesk SL2442FX-PRO
    • Behringer Eurolive 2 X tops
    • Behringer Eurolive 2 X Bins
    • Behringer Eurolive 2X Monitors
    • Behringer Super X-Pro
    • Behringer Ultragraph Pro
    • Alesis 3630 Compressor (Dual Channel)
    • Behringer Europower EP1500 Power Amp

Attached is a pic of the rig. What i am looking for is a block diagram of the connections required to get it working as we are only using the desk and the power amp at the moment to power the speakers and not getting the full potential of the equipment.
    Any input greatly appreciated
    Thanks a mill

Looks like you're missing a power amp or two? Are any of your speakers powered?

I'd recommend you purchase the following:

    1. Paul White's Basic Live Sound
    2. The Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook.

You'll get clearly explained and accurate information, which you will struggle to get on the web. You should also pay an engineer for a 2 hours of his time to show you the ropes. Otherwise you risk damaging the speakers.

The EP1500 is a power amp

Yes, but you need one stereo amp for bins, another for the tops, and another for the monitors. So you're short two! That's why I suggested you hire the services of an engineer. It's a very basic error.

Thanks for the response, looks like i will have to get someone to come out and look at it for me

the main left and right output from the desk should go first in to the ultragraph then into the crossover (super x).
of the four outputs from the crossover two should go to the poweramp and then on to the tops, and two should go to another power amp and on to the bins.
auxiliary output 1 and 2 from the desk should go to a third poweramp and then on to your monitors
the compressor can be connected before the ultragraph, or can be inserted onto individual channels of the desk e.g. vocals and bass using insert cables depending on the desired results.

NB://this is presuming none of the tops/bins/monitors are powered i.e. they have no plugs or on off switches, just a speaker input. if they are powered/active don't connect them to an amp of any kind

your missing 2 power amps and another ultragraph for the monitors

not sure on your experience, and not to jump to conclusions or anything, but crossvers/compressors/graphic equalizers do need a bit of know how, and can't just be "set right" if you know what I mean. might be worth hiring a sound man or start studying as already suggested:)

Actually ogy, according to the picture he has two stereo graphics. I would not recommend using the Alesis across the main outs, it's not in the least bit transparent. Personally I prefer a good limiter for live use, be it on channels or the main outs, it's much more transparent and easier to set up.

didn't look at the picture until now.

i figured it would be better to suggest doing something with the alesis other than chucking it in the bin:)

Both stereo ogy, the lower one just has more frequency ranges.
To add to the list of equipment, went rumaging in the attic and found another 500W 2 Channel power amp

i noticed that before you replied and edited my post sorry:)

thats cool, that might do your monitors, so now you just need another poweramp and your set!
