    How does this work?
You can now place calls to landline and mobile phones from within Gmail. Just dial any phone number and you’ll be connected. Learn more.

    Rates
Calls to the U.S. and Canada are free in 2010. International calls are billed at our insanely low rates.

    Emergency Calls
By clicking accept, you understand and agree that Google Voice is an enhanced call management application and that Google Voice is not capable of placing and receiving emergency service calls. Read the complete Terms of Service.

Have you tried this yourself? Have an awful feeling that this is only relevant if you're calling to/from the States/Canada.

Yes, I tried to ring a friend in US. He didn't pick up but went to his voicemail so I presume it is working. They give free 10c credit so you can do a test call to anywhere you want. Also before the calls are connected, they tell you how much it is going to cost you and how long you can talk with your current credit which is a nice touch I think compared to skype...

Funny, I don't have the 'call phone' option

I installed it, but still not showing... maybe your profile says you are the US (?)

Have been using this for about 10 days with no issues. I think it is only meant to be for people in USA/Canada though but happy enough to make hay while the sun shines!

A mate rang some dude in Nashville, Tennessee the other night that had advertised a donkey for sale on craigslist. Hilarity ensued. :)

Under Settings, Genral Tab my Gmail display language is set to English (US). Sorry for not mentioning this before, I changed it to that back the first time they were enabling Imap and forgot about it... No Ip check at the moment though so anyone can use it by changing that setting I think.
