Looking for a fairly basic laptop for college with the main uses being: Word Processing, surfing the net, and burning CDs.

Needs a hard drive, optical drive (CD/DVD), and Wireless adapter.

Am currently looking at the refurbished market, and would appreciate any recommendations which could be given as to what to look for and where to buy.

No thanks, I'm intent on buying only from a registered company or eBay business/power seller/top seller.

Just found out that Maplins have something which would be within my price range and meet most of my needs, plus it's brand new.

250 will get you a pretty dated machine at best. I'd suggest sticking to XP as Vista/Seven will give you no overhead to work with.

    Link?
