It's been a long time coming but I need somewhere to pour out feelings. This could go in a lot of places but I figured it would be best suited to the gentlemen.

I'm drunk right now but tbh it's the only way I can deal with what I'm feeling right now. People talk about guys not being involved in relationships and not having the feelings but that's absolute bollocks. I feel like **** and have done since we broke up ~3 weeks ago. And this was a mutual break up. I can only imagine how I would feel if she dumped me.

I had an idea of what I wanted to type but it's completely fled me right now. I did a BGRH and ate a kebab before turning on the computer. This has driven out all my ideas of what I wanted to say.

End of the day I feel like **** and I'm really searching for reasons to be happy. No downer right there, just how I feel.

Feel for ya dude, been there, as most guys have. Not much that can be done im afraid, execpt get your ass to a strip club with a bunch of mates and get pissed :), at least you've one of those covered!

    Hang in there!

Anyone that says "there's plenty more fish in the sea" or "time's a healer" should get an immediate ban!

I can only assume you broke up with her for a reason, or was this a "mutual breakup" that you didn't want but pretended to go along with because you did?

You need to be sober to sort out your feelings on things like this man. Drowning of sorrows merely works to put things off, not resolve them i'm afraid.

Cut all contact, and fill your days with activities to distract yourself.

The absolute worst thing you can do in this situation is to lie around all day wallowing in self pity.

    Cheers guys.

It was a mutual breakup but it doesn't stop me missing her like mad. Intellectually I know it was the right decision, it wasn't sudden, we dealt with it but dammit if that doesn't help. Thankfully I got a job recently because I can only imagine what it'd be like if I was still on the scratcher.

In that case, and not to belittle how you feel, you will be grand. Sadness will remain for a while, we tend to think about "what if's?" and "If i only i had..." at times like this. Some of it stems from the very specific missing of the persons company, some of it stems from the general fear of missed opportunities and the new burden of loneliness that can creep in.

The fact that it was a well thought out decision that just had to be done tells me you'll be okay man.

Drinking may seem not a good way of solving the problem , but in many cases it helps to understand what is important in life..and how stupid we can be:cool:

Well i'm one of the casualties who spent many evenings feeling sorry for myself while listening to the four tops over a pretty face. It's happened about 5 times and last time i promised it will never happen again. This girl stepped out of a pop song like and i was besotted for days and i knew i was a hopeless suitor i languished for days and days while drinking and feeling sorry and why does it happen to me i don't deserve this.I'm a decent fellah from a decent irish catholic background and pedigree,....Well that was many years ago and good thing it did'nt happen too.Little wonder i'm a mess.

There is a popular misconception that men just don't care and all it takes to get over a woman is a cold shower!

I have had my fair share of heartache and dissapointments! It hurts like a bitch!!

But as corny as it is, time works!

Get a hobby, start running or something. Play a team based game. Ease off the gargle, don't give it up. Just cut down. Things don't change over night, be patient.

Think everyone's been there at one point, OP.

Just throw yourself into your new job, and maybe pick up a new hobby to help distract yourself.

It won't be easy or fun at first, but it gets better.

Also, it has to count for something that you yourself feel the breakup was for the best. Might help keep the "What if?"s away.

Good luck anyway, hope you're okay!
