    Just seen this on boxrec:

IBF title at stake only for Gamboa as Salido was stripped of it prior to the fight due to weighing more than ten pounds over the weight limit at a second weigh-in on the morning of the event.

Is there not only an official weigh in 24hours before the fight, then an unofficial weigh in a few hours before the fight just for tale of the tape sake? Or is it just something with the IBF?

It is an IBF only rule, a fighter must not put on more than 10lbs for the second weigh-in the morning of the fight. If a fighter is over 10 lbs on the 2nd weigh in they have 2 hours to lose the weight, if they can't then(if they're the champion) they forfeit the title on the scales or(if they're the challenger) they cannot claim the title.

Im not saying its a bad thing but we could see a few fighters turning down ibf title because of it.
It seems like a good safety measure but i wonder would fighters purposly not re hydrate as much as they should due to this rule? Bearing in mind not every fighters is a big enough name to turn their nose up at a world title.
