    Get a fridge boss.

Far to hot to hang in shed, blue flies are still about!

you would not believe what a week in 15deg can do to a carcass

The most important part of deer stalking is the prep work.

I took me years to develop a good setup and I'm still trying to perfect it;)

I got a Finches Orange chiller for my birthday off my da a few years ago, he got it for a tenner.
As a result I cut some fine steaks Saturday straight out of the fridge and straight into the freezer

Hi, have the same problem my fridge packed in a few weeks back. If you hang it in a place where its cool and air can circulate around it and ye have it in a fly net, a day or two will be fine. Its still very warm so best to keep an eye on it. I will only hang deer for a few days anyway, deer are like us,there only between 55%- 65% water so the longer you leave them the more water they loose.
Thats my view, so good luck! and get a buck!

Depends on age of animal, I hung a yearling for 8 days and it cut out very well.
having said that 4 days would have been fine too.

A big stag I'd just make burgers :D

Have to learn how to smoke and make jerky.

Don't think I have ever had venison jerky.

I made a heap of venison jerky a few years ago, Simple enough recipe,I marinaded the meat overnight and laid it out on the oven racks and stuck the oven on fan only no heat.
Left it there overnight and took them off the next day.
I'll try and dig out the recipe.
It's worth making a heap because after you dry it you only have 1/3 of the wet weight.

    Definately do!

One of my south African mates made "Botongue" excuse spelling; in his hot press.

I lived on Beef Jerkie in the states.
    Love the stuff

Biltong is the Saffers name for Jerky, it's very similar although it uses more coriander than the american version.
Its great stuff to have up the hill with you, lightweight, invulnerable to bashing around and tasty.

What a stroke of luck, was looking for one of those Bar fridges for a while now, like hens teeth to get. A friend called last night asked how I was getting on deer stalkng, told him did not go yet as weather too mild and no cool place to hang it. He said a friend of his was doing work in a pub in town and he would ask him to look out for one. Lo and behold he called today there was one in the pub not being used a heineken one perfect condition,he came up with the van and half hour later it was in my shed working perfect. Pure luck:p

YES but with everything theres a catch. There is usualy a stop in the stat so it can't be turned up so high that it stops frezzing. You could strip the stat down and over-ride the stop or replace the stat with one from a fridge.

Make sure there is a fan to cirulate the air within the fridge.
