    Hi All,
For those recording enthusiasts looking to purchase their first analogue compressor. I taught I'd give my recommendation- and hopefully others will add to it and maybe it might help someone who is looking to purchase their first outboard compressor.

The Rupert Neve Portico dual compresssor 5043.
-Firstly it's a very high quality dual compresssor.
-Its has sensible control parameters -Attack and release aren't bullet fast which I think is a good thing
-It has switcable feedfoward and feedback which gives the compressor 2 totally different personalities.
    - Simply put its a no nonsense unit with very musical results.
    - Costs around €1550 which for a dual unit and the quallity involved is very good value-

I'm not saying its the best compressor out there but after using many great compressors over the last few years I think its a great first compressor to own.
    Any thoughts or recommendations.
